Frequently asked questions

We make things that work better and last longer. Our products solve real problems with clean design and honest materials.

Shipping

Where do you ship?

Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you to make it right.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is complimentary on all orders over €250. Below that, it's calculated at checkout based on your destination, before you confirm.

When will I receive my order?

Orders are prepared within 1–2 business days. From there, delivery is roughly 1–2 days in mainland Portugal and 3–7 days across the EU. You'll get a tracking link by email as soon as your order leaves the atelier.

Do you ship outside the EU?

Not yet. We're growing carefully, and shipping beyond the EU is something we'll open up in time. Join the list to hear when we do.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

You have 14 days from the day your order arrives to request a return. Pieces should be unworn, with tags attached, in their original condition. Once we've received and checked them, we'll refund your original payment method. If your order shipped within the EU, you also have a separate 14-day right to cancel — see our Returns page for how that works.

How do I start a return?

Write to us at info@elaraclothing.com with your order number and we'll send you everything you need. Please don't send anything back before you hear from us.

Can I exchange a piece for another size?

Yes, within the 14-day window and subject to availability. Because we make in small numbers, the surest way to secure a different size is to return your original and place a new order — but write to us first at info@elaraclothing.com and we'll help however we can.

Who covers return shipping?

We'll arrange the return label for you; the cost is deducted from your refund. If a piece arrived faulty or incorrect, return shipping is on us.

Sizing & Fit

How does ELARA sizing work?

Our pieces are sized PP to GG, with international conversions and exact measurements on every product page. If you usually shop EU, UK, or US sizing, the size guide on each piece will point you to the right one.

How are the pieces meant to fit?

It varies by piece, some sit close, some are made to fall loose and relaxed. Each product page notes how that piece is intended to be worn, so you can choose with confidence.

I'm between two sizes. What should I do?

Have a look at the measurements on the product page and think about how you like a piece to sit. As a rule, our relaxed shapes are forgiving if you size down, and our closer cuts wear best true to size. If you're still unsure, write to us, we'd rather help you get it right.

Will sold-out sizes come back?

Sometimes, but not always. We make each capsule in limited numbers, so when a size goes, it may not return. The list is the first place we announce restocks.

Product & Care

What are your pieces made from?

Natural fabrics, led by a linen we have woven in the north of Portugal. We choose cloth for how it falls and how it ages, not for how it photographs.

How do I care for linen?

Wash cold, gentle cycle or by hand, with a mild detergent. Reshape while damp and dry flat or on the line, out of direct sun. Iron slightly damp if you like a crisp finish, or let it keep its natural, lived-in texture. Store folded rather than hung.

Where are your pieces made?

Everything is cut and sewn in the north of Portugal, in small runs, in our atelier. You can read the full story on the Atelier page.

Why are pieces so limited?

We work in capsules, a small handful of pieces each season, made in small numbers and meant to be worn long after they're bought. It's a deliberate choice: less, made better.

Do you restock sold-out pieces?

Rarely. A capsule is made once, in limited quantity. When something returns, the list hears first.
